Eichler Driveway Remodel |
After we painted the house (the second time), our driveway started looking really bad, so we got some quotes
for re-paving our driveway, entryway, and pathway to the side yard (ouch!) and decided to do most of it ourselves.

<== The original driveway was pretty cracked, especially around the water meter box.==> |

<==Erik decided the best way to re-do the driveway was to put in concrete curbs to hold the pavers in place. He
decided to make the curbs rounded near the entryway and the side yard. Erik inspecting his trenches.==> |

<== The concrete truck came and poured concrete. A friend, Dave Peterson, and I helped Erik direct the concrete into the trenches. ==> |

<== The contractor we hired (Abba Hauling) came with a bobcat and ripped up the old driveway and
front entryway. Piles of old entryway, before being taken to the dump.==> |

<==
The driveway with old concrete plus 8" of soil removed (8" for the base rock, 1" for sand, 3" for the pavers).

<== Oops. After vibrating we figured out we needed slightly more base rock in several places and had to go to Lyngso and get some more. ==> |
<== Gravel spread and compacted -- we're ready to pave! ==> |
<== The pavers arrive (two weeks late). | |
